The Pledge : transparency.coffee
The coffee-producing community of Bellavista is located in the Mexican state of Chiapas, at the southernmost tip of the country. Nestled in the Mexican side of the Sierra Madre mountain range, between 1,400 and 1,800 meters above sea level, this community is led by the inspiring Rosalba Cifuentes Tovía.
Rosalba is an exceptional woman, committed, visionary, and deeply devoted to her community. She offers her producer partners prices well above market rates, quality premiums, and even interest-free loans to support their work. Her goal? To move the coffee world forward, one step at a time.
In Bellavista, women face particularly harsh realities: violence, invisibility, and a lack of recognition for their labor. Since the beginning of her journey in coffee, Rosalba has wanted to change that. She founded the “Grupo de Mujeres de Bellavista,” a collective of women producers who support, train, and empower each other. Rosalba oversees the sale of the coffee, but everything is done with total transparency: every exchange, every decision is made openly.

This coffee, produced by the women’s group of Bellavista, is surprising and offers a vibrant, sweet, and juicy profile. As a filter coffee, you’ll taste a mix of stone fruits with a silky component reminiscent of cane sugar. As an espresso, it becomes a balanced cup leaning toward caramel and pear. It also pairs beautifully with milk in a cappuccino format.
