The Pledge : transparency.coffee

Martha is a coffee with a classic profile that warms us up especially during this cold season. As a filter, it is smooth and easy to drink, with chocolate notes and a beautiful lingering finish of spices and nuts. As an espresso, it becomes creamy and chocolaty, with a light acidity reminiscent of red apple, perfect to enjoy with a splash of milk.

Originally from San Sebastián, Lempira, Martha Lícida is the eldest of 14 children from a farming family. From a young age, she worked on the farm and developed an interest in commerce, selling bread and confections in her village. Married at 22, she began travelling to Guatemala to buy and resell goods, before a friend encouraged her to venture into coffee farming.

In 1987, she purchased her first plot of land in San Sebastián and gradually grew her production. With the support of exporter Bon Café, Martha has improved her farming and processing practices, and today stands out for the exceptional quality of her coffee.
